Your Ultimate Mini Moon
Updated: Oct 4, 2019
Currently, I am writing this from the balcony of a holiday cottage in Cornwall. What a beautiful part of the world!
After all the wedding planning and enjoying your wedding day you need the break! Sometimes it isn’t practical to take a long honeymoon, be it the wrong time of year for your dream destination, lack of annual leave or not enough savings, a mini moon is the ideal solution.
We had our baby moon in the Lake District for 5 days and had THE BEST time, I actually enjoyed it more than our holiday abroad… don’t tell the other half! Why? Because personally, I think that the UK has some of the most beautiful places to visit. It can be more cost effective, less hassle with passports and airports and running to save a bed by the pool!
Here is my check list for the perfect mini moon:
Perhaps a private cottage for two away from the hustle and bustle of a town centre.
If quiet is not your thing, a busy and exciting city base may be more your thing.
Cosy and comfortable
Because you want somewhere you two can connect and while feel a million miles from everyone, without feeling like a million miles away from each other.
There is something so refreshing and connecting about walking hand in hand through beautiful countryside or across gorgeous beaches.
Make it under a mile walk. Do I need to explain why not driving and having a glass of red in front of a roaring pub fire or drinking a G&T sat in a pub garden overlooking rolling hills is a good idea?
What better place to have your morning cuppa! (See above image of what I am doing right now!)
Imagine a glass of bubbly reminiscing about your wedding day in a private hot tub.
Well, who wants to do a house share or have noisy (and nosey) hotel neighbours when all you want and all you need at this time is some private and quiet time to spend together.
Somewhere close enough that you do not feel like you are travelling miles but far enough away that you feel like you are getting away. A few hours’ drive is what we choose, or you could do a short flight to Ireland or Paris maybe?
Here are my top 5 places for a heavenly, peaceful and beautiful mini moon in Britain:
Cornwall and Devon
Of course, there are so many places to choose from, what are your favourite places to visit in the UK?
Just remember, a mini moon is the time to reflect and enjoy your wedding moments. To spend time with each other and start your marriage journey. No matter where you go and what you do, enjoy these times together.
